Michel Gyarmarthy, a 20th Century Hungarian artist born in Balassagyarmat in 1908. During the 30’s and 40’s, Michel was an artisic director at the Folies in Bergere.
Michel was a symbol of Parisian Joie de Vivre and was responsible for the original costume and scenery designs. He was a close friend of Josephine Baker and Maurice Chevalier.
He died in Paris in 1996.
