Anthony Devas

Anthony Devas ARA RP, a modern British artist (1911 – 1958).

Anthony Devas was born in Bromley in Kent on 8th January 1911, he studied at The Slade School in London and went on to become an extremely successful artist ,best known for his portrait commissions.

He was a committed member of the Chelsea Arts Club and a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy to which he was elected in 1953.

He held one man shows at Agnew’s in 1941 and Cooling Galleries in 1936 as well as numerous others.
